Substantial barley crops are cultivated in 43 of Idaho's 44 counties. Only Shoshone County typically does not plant this crop. Primary producing counties include Fremont, Franklin, Caribou, Minidoka and Bonneville. Almost half a million acres a year is devoted to malt barley.
