The Idaho Museum of Natural History, founded in 1934, offers exhibits, lectures, outreach to schools and maintains permanent collections in anthropology, biology, geology and paleontology. As an academic department of the university the museum offers academic courses and wilderness field studies, sponsors research, and publishes a bi-annual journal Tebiwa as well as Occasional Papers. The purpose of the museum is to enhance an understanding and delight in the natural and cultural history of the region.
